A very fine performance by the 18 or so good folk representing the Jolly Cricketers came up four runs short on Sunday afternoon. Or was it two overs short? Someone lost count sonewhere along the way. Anyhow on a sunny warm September afternoon in the leafy environs of Seer Green and Jordans the sun set on another successful cricket season for the JAVS. Our fine hosts put on a splendid display captained heroically by Oliver 'Seymour' Butler. A wonderful huge six by Luke managed to leave a permanent mark on the pavilion, whilst catches were grasped from the sky in an impressive fielding display.
A big thank you to Chris and Amanda from all who played for and against the JAVS this 2009 season, your hospitality at the Jolly Cricketers has enabled it to truly live up to its name.
