Javs carpe diem quod erant victotious in a angustus compositus in a sunny September dies......... For all you scholars out there, I thought that as we played Salix (Latin for willow) yesterday I would do the match report in Latin. Then I realised Lewis, Bubba , Charlie, Robin, Finchy etc etc would all be even more confused than they already are. Our very own willow the wisp Charlie 'Flat Stanley' Yolland ripped through the heart of the Salix middle order with a wonderful 3 for 27 from not many overs. A 49 from Chairman Tim 'Tommy' Sonnex and a carry my bat to the end effort of 40 something from stalwart batter Simon 'I can't run three' Scott ensured a 205 total would be enough to secure victory. Our experienced spin team were duly despatched to various suburbs of Seer Green before we managed to strangle Salix's resistance. A good win. All our thoughts go out to Andrew Biffa and wish him a speedy recovery. Two matches remaining.
