More Kingsmill than Kingshill

Javs toasted Little Kingshill at home on Sunday with an easy 107 run bread and butter victory. A solid start with Alex Sawyer leading the way with 40 runs. A wonderful quick fire 30 from Chris (bubalicious bubba) Edridge set a total of 178 for them to chase down. A sparkling opening bowler pairing of Keith (skipper) Murphy and Raj (number 42) Kumar kept their opening batsmen in check. Then on came our most experienced spinner Robin (yollers) Yolland who took three wickets for very little to maintain his position as top of the wicket taking leaderboard. Bring on Chartridge.

COACHES CORNER An excellent victory with some excellent plus points. BATTING I thought the openers and particular Alex played very well. The opening bowlers may not have dynamic from side on, but from my position they were a difficult line and length pair.Raj was due a failure and Tim is having dificulty with his timing. Keith's cameo assault was cut short by a top edge. Charlie had a rare failure but looks a number 4 for me. Chris Edridge hit 30 off 11 balls but we still failed to bat out our overs,a must! although Robin had a dubious LBW decision. BOWLING Without Lewis both Keith and Raj bowled really impressive tight spells to a well set field. After 10 overs the score was 12!. Considering their normal economy rate this was a fine display. An unusal catching error by Chris Morton Denied Raj the reward he deserved. First change was Chris Eldrige. With only one wicket down this was where the match was going to sway. However a triple wicket maiden over effectively won the match.Charlie bowled a very accurate spell adding a yard of pace as well. Robin Yolland came on and took 3-6 with his strange brew od leg breaks, off breaks, full tosses and moon balls. No wonder he is the top wicket taker. The most impressive thing was the almost elimination of no balls and wides. The field placings were excellent as were the fielders. I have a feeling that our run of vitories now means that we have parity in terms of wins and losses.
