"Give us a twirl" fellas after a fine victory against Denham. The JAVs paid homage to the late great Sir Bruce Forsyth with a generation gamesque victory. Denham won the toss and put the JAVs into bat first. Captain Leybourne mixed up the pack with Chairman Sonnex and Ashley Turney at the top of the order. It was a slow sticky wicket and as we know "points make prizes", it was slow going and runs were had to find. Pete Goldsmith and Mark 'Puppy' Harris settled in the middle order as they pushed the scoreboard in the right direction. New boy Puppy 71 and steady Luke Symons 41 gave the JAVs a defendable total of 166. "Cuddly toys" all round.

Denham fielded a number of their league players and forging a win would be an uphill battle. Tight bowling from Tim Bingle and Jamie Hungin kept the score "Lower, lower" as we did not want it to go "Higher, higher". Chairman Sonnex 7 overs for 23 runs tightened the strangle hold and with Puppy Harris 7 overs, 3 maidens, 4 wickets for 12 runs and Captain Leybourne 2.3 overs 3 wickets of 5 runs the JAVs ran out easy winners with a 60 run victory. As Sir Bruce would say "Keeeeeep dancin!". Didn't the JAVS do well!
